Being, relationship, perspective

It's probably best to start off this blog post with an analogy with regard to law. I'm assuming that you understand that, if you have an issue with a man made law, or have committed a crime, then you need to speak to a lawyer. Similar to man made law, you have what is known as Natural Law, which are the principles of existence - from a human perspective (all laws are created from a human perspective). This is where I come in as a mystic and shaman. If you feel you have issues in life, or existence, or you feel that your life is not working out like it should get in touch and we should be able to figure out what's going on, what's happening, and how to change things to produce a different outcome.

I'm starting with this clarification because I'm going to be writing about what I consider to be the fundamentals of developing consciousness and conscious awareness, mindfulness, and getting yourself back into what I refer to as the flow of life. Life as an experience is no different from air and water. It's meant to flow, not stagnate, and not bring you into constant conflict or struggle with your environment. You are not born to struggle or suffer. You are born to live your life and experience your environment through going through whatever experiences which unfold. Life is all about just two things, change and relationship.

Which brings us to being, relationship and perspective. Note that all these three terms are interdependent and interconnected. You cannot exist without being in some sort of relationship with everything else in existence. You see there's you, the individual human being. You exist because you had parents and a family. So too did everyone else and so you're also connected to a community, and society, which is a conceptual term for many different human beings living together, which in turn also means that you exist because human beings exist as a species. This is one species from among millions of species which make up an ecosystem on a living planet. The planet is one of many others in a solar system, which is in a galaxy, and is one of many other different galaxies in a universe.

But your relationship and connection to everything else in existence does not in any way change your reality of being an individual human being experiencing life and existence in an environment. Therefore existing involves a relationship, and being an individual in relationship gives you a unique and individual perspective on life and existence. See you cannot be an individual in relationship without having a perspective of relationship. Therefore being, relationship and perspective all amount to one and the same thing. You cannot be anyone or anything other than who or what you are in reality. It also follows that you cannot be anywhere other than where you are now nor can your environment be any different. This seems to be something of a widespread human tragedy but you cannot change either who you are as an individual human being and you cannot change your environment. That is your reality.

The sheer importance of a balanced perspective

So this is where all this becomes something of a message or a fundamental truth which I'm seeking to share with you, and other people. Please keep in mind that this blog post follows on from the other two, so you might wish to read the other two - which are relatively short - to get the context of what I'm writing about here. This is the general theme of this website, other posts and my work and my life. Forget about enlightenment, spiritual or otherwise, forget about nirvana, moksha, yoga, magic, development of consciousness, religion, faith, and everything else. Please don't ask me about the purpose of life. I cannot tell you what it is. Please also don't look at me as if I'm some oracle of truth, nor look at me as if I'm some shining example of humanity. I'm not. Just pay attention to the message and take it for what it is.

The whole point of life, and of existence, is to develop a balanced perspective between you the individual and your environment. That's it.

This is something which of course is easier said than done. But fundamentally every single issue which affects human beings - individually, socially, politically and culturally - comes out of thinking which arises out of an imbalanced perspective on life and existence. Please don't take my word for it, take a look around you in the world today. Doesn't matter if we're talking environmental issues, social issues or political issues, look into the issue deep enough and you will always, always, always come across thinking from an imbalanced perspective on life and existence as well as confusion between actual reality and conceptual reality. Rooted in such thinking are various illusions - separateness between self and other, between self and environment, cause and effect, permanence, or the notion that you can somehow change or improve self or change or improve the environment. If either were possible - which they're not - then why does nothing seem to change?

It's important to understand that everything is changing all the time all around you. This is why I keep repeating myself over and over and over again the same thing - all existence is change, all existence is relationship. Everything changes all the time, you change all the time. You probably cannot see it, because you've been socialized to think of yourself and everything else as a fixed concept, but each and every single time you talk about yourself to other people you're giving them a slightly different version of you and they stick with that concept. Now think about all the people you have met throughout your life, since you were born. Understand that the way you see yourself is totally different to the way other people see you. You might think of yourself in conceptual terms as the same person throughout, but this is just your assumption and the truth of the matter is that you've been creating probably millions of different images of you to everyone you've ever met in life.

Just to mess with your head a little bit more, it is only your assumption that you've been the same person throughout. You have nothing whatsoever to back up that assumption. Other people are only taking you at face value or going by their assumptions about you. All you have to go on in your life is memory, and trust me, memory can be much more unreliable than you assume it is. I could ask you what you were doing between 3pm and 4pm on the first Sunday in April 2019 and you probably wouldn't be able to tell me or remember. Your entire knowledge of who you are, who other people are, and what everything else is and can be is made up entirely of concepts and beliefs. It's all relatively real which means it's real only in terms of a concept or a belief.

Therefore is the real issue here when it comes to humanity and society the fact that nothing ever changes, or is it closer to the truth that fundamentally you, me and everyone else are all resistant to change? Think about it. Society is just a large number of human beings existing together on the basis of common assumptions and beliefs. Nobody is in control of anything. We're all assuming that someone is in control on the basis of our beliefs and assumptions. There's just some people who are delusional enough to think that they can be in control if they only try hard enough. I mean, what else is politics based on?

I am the universe, and the universe is me.

Jiddu Krishnamurti

You are relationship

This is something I'm going to leave you with. This is something which is very close to my mystical and shamanistic work - all of it and my message to the world. Why is having a balanced perspective and developing such a perspective so important in life? The answer is simple. You are fundamentally a relationship, a connection, and nothing more than this. You as an individual human being is a concept. This planet is a concept. Society is a concept. The universe is a concept. Your physical body is a concept. It's just a rhythm or pattern of millions of different biological cells vibrating together in relationship, relative to another environment, which is made up of billions or even trillions of different atoms and molecules vibrating together in an environment.

You might see yourself as an individual, an individual who exists in an environment. But see what is individual and what is environment is entirely arbitrary. I bring to your attention the Krishnamurti quote above. You see environment is just many different individual things or organisms in relationship or connected to everything else. Is your heart you or just a part of you? What about your brain? What about your senses? What about your emotions and feelings? Is your anger you? Or just a part of who you are? What about other feelings? Other emotions? What about your thoughts? Your beliefs? Are they you or just another part of who 'you' are? Okay so who are you? Are you not just a concept or a belief, or are you something more than this?

Who are you? Who or what is the real you? What part of you is real, or really real, and how much of you is only relatively real and a concept?

Okay so who or what do you define as you, and where do you draw the line or the boundaries of not you, or other? At what point do you say "This is me" and at what point do you say to yourself "This is not me."? I will leave you to think about this. You know where I am if you want to discuss this.
